Both residents and commuters alike have become victims of the unsafe traffic conditions encouraged by LADOT on Overland Ave. between Santa Monica Bl. and Pico Bl. Our goal on Little Overland Ave. is not to reduce traffic but rather to make the traffic that travels down our street safer. Unfortunately, people choose to drive down our narrow residential street at speeds in excess of the posted 25 mph, fail to yield to pedestrians (including school children) as they try to cross the street, sideswipe the parked cars and literally crash into the residents as they try to get in and out of their driveways.

The most devastating incident occurred in December 2003, when our neighbor was killed by a speeding vehicle as he tried to cross the 30 feet of roadway to go home on a sunny Saturday afternoon.
